What’s shut on Mallorca’s roads
The island’s road authority keeps a register of everything it has closed, coned off or dug up, and it publishes it as a map that cannot answer the one question a cyclist has: is it on the road I was going to ride? 9 entries are live or booked in right now, 3 of them shutting a road under you, and between them they reach 7 of the climbs and 5 of the signposted routes on this site. Those are named against each entry below.

Source IDEmallorca — Consell de Mallorca · checked 18 October 2026Kilometre points are the authority’s own chainage, which is how its signs name a stretch. Several Mallorcan roads inherit their numbering from an older route, so a kilometre point is not a distance from where the road begins.

How to read this page
Everything here is the Consell de Mallorca’s own register of works and closures on the roads it manages, read on the date above. Entries that had already finished on that date are left out.
A climb is named against an entry only where two things hold: the stretch the authority publishes overlaps the ground that climb covers, and the road carries a provable share of the climb itself. A shared road number is never enough — the Ma-10 runs the length of the Serra de Tramuntana, and works at one end of it say nothing about the other.
An official route is named on the same two gates, with one limit that belongs to the route records rather than to this register: the track those records draw is the routed path thinned to about four hundred points, so it cuts the corner on a hairpin by up to 221 m. The proximity test is set wider than that and is therefore never used on its own. The distance given for a route is the smaller of the closed section it meets and the distance that route rides on the road at all. Treat it as a maximum rather than a measurement: the test measures the closed road, not how much of it the route uses.
Each route lists the twelve roads it rides furthest on, so a route riding a short stretch of a closed road outside those twelve is not named against it. This test is more likely to miss an entry than to name a wrong one, and the authority’s viewer still shows anything it misses.
Some entries shut a road «at the indicated hours» and indicate none, because the hours belong to whoever is running the event rather than to the road authority. Where that body publishes them, they are quoted here in its own words, with the day it was read — beside the register’s entry, never instead of it. Where it publishes only a start time, the page says that is what it publishes: a ride leaving at nine is not a road shutting at nine.
The dates are the authority’s. Whether a stretch is coned off on any particular morning is a question for its viewer, linked above.
Works get lifted early and extended late. Before a ride that depends on one of these, the authority’s own viewer carries the current picture. Consell de Mallorca — road incidents viewer.
