MallorcaVelo is the definitive cycling reference for Mallorca.

There is no finer island in the world to ride a road bike, and it is not close. The Serra de Tramuntana climbs straight out of the Mediterranean into hairpin after hairpin of the best mountain road ever surfaced; behind it lies a plain you can cross all morning without touching the brakes; over all of it, sun for most of the year and an empty road at first light. Riders have loved this island for a hundred years.

What it never had was a guide worthy of it — one authoritative place where every climb is measured, every route is real, and every decision a rider actually has to make is answered from evidence rather than somebody’s half-remembered week. So we built it.

Every road climb on the island, measured the same way against Spain’s national terrain model: the same ruler held to all of them, not one rider’s GPS and not a guess. Every signposted route reconstructed and handed to you as free GPX. Every practical question — when to come, where to base yourself, what gear the steep bits demand — answered from official sources, each figure carrying the day it was last checked. One island, one standard, one place to look it up — and it will still be right next season.

Almost everything else written about cycling here is a description of a ride somebody once had. It is a fine thing to read, and it is no help the moment you need a number: how long the climb is, how much it gains, whether it is harder than the one you rode yesterday, whether the road is even open this month. MallorcaVelo answers those — for every climb on the island, to a single standard, from the measured record.

How it’s made

Every figure here is measured, not remembered. The climb numbers come from one script run over the centreline of the actual road and Spain’s national 5 m terrain model; the routes are reconstructed from the official records; the practical material is compiled from official publications and operators’ own pages — each fact carrying its source and the date it was last checked. How it makes money

No ranking, verdict or difficulty score on this site takes a commercial relationship as an input — every one is computed from the measured record by criteria published next to it.
